Combination School Planning and Design

Fanning Howey has worked with a variety of clients in the planning and design of combination school buildings and campuses. Our portfolio includes a wide variety of grade configurations: PK-12, K-12, PK-8, K-8, 3-8, 6-12, and 7-12 schools.

We understand the challenges facing combination schools, including maintaining separation between different age groups while providing shared core facilities. Our design concepts create distinct learning environments that promote a strong sense of identity, while also increasing security and enhancing wayfinding. Above all, we design to meet the specific needs of each client, drawing from administrators, faculty, students, and community members to arrive at a customized solution.
