Design Highlights

Envisioned as a 21st century educational facility, the new Portsmouth Junior/Senior High School supports the district's mission: "to provide the highest quality of education for all students." Specialized learning areas include a student courtyard adjacent to the arts lab, a television studio and distance learning lab next to the media center, and a large group instruction room that connects the two academic wings.

Historic elements can be found throughout the school. Columns rescued from the old U.S. Grant building are placed at the main entrance, while stone urns that once lined the top of U.S. Grant building are now featured as art pieces in the student courtyard.
