Design Highlights
A combination of design elements representing the past, present, and future forms a vibrant landmark at this "Gateway to the Pointes." The use of high-quality materials such as Mankato Stone and slate roofs creates an opportunity for this structure to become a historic, 100-year building.
The library's interior is a collection of striking spaces. Middle school students use the bright, welcoming youth area as a homework center. On the second floor, a vaulted ceiling gives the main collection room the feel of a New England town hall. But the most popular space is the periodical room, which features a dramatic two-story brick fireplace and round dormer windows.
