Needs Assessment and Feasibility Study, Troy Public Library
Image

Challenges

  • Examine options for expanding the existing community library
  • Align library services and facilities with the needs of the community

Highlights

As part of an effort to chart the future of Troy Public Library, Fanning Howey conducted a complete needs assessment and feasibility study that developed three options for potential expansion. The assessment examined existing conditions within the library and engaged the community in a series of focus groups to determine the library’s perceived strengths and areas for improvement. Based on input from library staff, residents, and experienced library design professionals, the team developed conceptual drawings and cost estimates related to each option. The study provided Troy Public Library with a comprehensive and logical analysis on which to base future facilities decisions.
