Examine the possibility of converting an existing middle school into a new community center
Highlights
In 2001, Fanning Howey teamed with Wade-Trim Associates to examine the possible adaptive reuse of the existing Barnum Middle School. The resulting study envisioned a dynamic facility with a family aquatics center, therapeutic pool, gymnasium, teen coffee house/dining area, weight fitness suite, aerobics/dance studios, multipurpose rooms, artists' studios, and residential units. Community input was key in the development of several design options.
