Challenges

  • Develop multi-phase campus plan for growing church community
  • Seamlessly integrate new facilities with existing sanctuary space

Design Highlights

The design for Beulah Baptist Church provided dynamic new facilities while respecting the heritage of the client’s existing sanctuary. Phase I created a three-level worship center connected to the existing facility. The worship center is arranged in a fan-shaped configuration with an elevated main platform at its center, providing an intimate atmosphere within a large area. Phase II renovated the existing 3,100-square-foot sanctuary, creating new classrooms, a music suite, and reception/gathering areas. The overall plan uses several foyers and related circulation areas to connect the new and old buildings, creating a unified campus for Beulah Baptist Church.
