Challenges

  • Develop master plan for 34-acre campus
  • Provide multi-purpose space for worship, fellowship, and athletics

Design Highlights

Phase I of a long-term master plan for Colonial Baptist Church saw the development of two classroom buildings and a multipurpose building connected by a circulation spine and a central courtyard. The multipurpose building is a flexible facility that accommodates a worship center with seating for 1,600, two full-size basketball courts, and assembly halls for groups of 300 and 400, respectively. The site plan’s courtyard design will allow for the construction of three additional buildings, including a 3,500-seat sanctuary that will anchor the end of the courtyard opposite the multipurpose building.

Client: Colonial Baptist Church
