Challenges

  • Develop flexible master plan to accommodate a variety of future site development options
  • Design Phase 1 facilities for worship, education, fellowship, and administration

Design Highlights

The design of a new 71,300-square-foot facility for Wake Chapel Church is Phase I of a larger master plan. A 30,000-square-foot sanctuary accommodates 2,970 worshippers in a performing arts center-quality space. Other areas include children’s classrooms, a small chapel located off the main sanctuary, a Fellowship Hall/Multipurpose Room, and an administrative center. Several large, carefully appointed foyers act as support space for the sanctuary and provide opportunities for fellowship and greeting functions. The design approach to Phase I included master planning and preliminary programming for possible future phases, allowing the church to create a well-thought out plan for continued growth.
